Snow

It may not be too impressive by most standards but this is about the most snow Coventry has seen in about 10 years.

My Sunday

And this is our nice quiet office at lunch time on Sunday. As you can see I’m the only one here because my project manager dragged me in to deal with a fault after he completely mismanaged it. Lucky me I may be back here working the three days between Christmas and New Year thanks to the same problem.

Work

Here’s an exciting picture of my desk at work because I was bored for 30 seconds between urgent panic phone calls from my project manager.

Back at work

Analysing geographic redundancy of SIP presence manaZZZZZZZ

This is all so much less fun than donning the garb of a mad paladin, driving around the countryside with a troubador and a wizard, playing games in a dwarven tavern or just singing along to a melody or two with good company.

*toddles off to get some lottery tickets in the hope of buying some grand guild hall in the English countryside*

At Home

Another year gone and a second moot is over.  Many old friends and some new are gone and sadly missed as we return to our homes oceans and seemingly worlds apart, though once again closer in spirit.  As I wipe the still-flowing tears from my eyes thinking of everyone that I wish I could just bundle up in wrapping paper and bring home with me I’d like to repeat the poem I wrote for last year.

The Tie that Binds Us
by Uxian

Though my friends, we're far away,
With worlds between do not dismay,
For through us all a thread unseen,
Transcends the distances between,
It links our souls throughout all time,
Diamond strong but silken fine,
And though emptiness may fill my heart,
That you and I must be apart,
Our link is one no blade may sever,
Between us we have found forever

Thank you all for coming to make this gathering as amazing as it was, and thank you as well to every last Truewatch member.  You all make this guild something very special - a virtual place where real friends can be found.

Hello

With each hello my soul will cry
A little more inside
As each greeting’s mirrored
With a heart-breaking goodbye

Everyone seems to be posting about their work so I could join in.  But how many people really want to know the exciting details of profiling a SIP application server using Eclipse and the TPTP performance monitoring platform in order to find a crippling memory leak?  Or the endless struggle against a piece of software that only wants to tell me the following…

Annoying TPTP/Eclipse Error

Currently I’m being kept awake only because the on-site restaurant has started stocking absurdly oversized cans of a Red Bull-like drink.
